Lessons from the Women in MedTech Podcast: Innovation, Patient Care, and the Future of Healing

Mighty Well Founder Emily Levy Speaker

Recently, our co-founder Emily had the privilege of joining the Women in MedTech Podcast for the second time. Reflecting on her conversation, she highlighted how much has shifted at Mighty Well — and in the broader medtech landscape — since her first interview in 2024.

Here are five key takeaways:

1. Innovation Requires Both Vision and Data

Mighty Well recently secured a Rhode Island Innovation Voucher, which allows us to collect lab data on our core products:

For years, patients and clinicians have told us how these products improve safety and confidence. Now, we’re backing those stories with scientific research and lab data.

Takeaway: Pairing lived experience with scientific data is how meaningful innovation gets amplified.

2. Partnerships Expand Patient Access

Emily discussed Mighty Well’s growing collaboration with Prism Medical Products, a subsidiary of Henry Scheinof. This collaboration allows Mighty Well to serve as the product curators for patients, while Prism manages fulfillment and licensing.

Why this matters: Accessing the right supplies shouldn’t be a barrier to care. Through collaboration, patients can now get medical supplies delivered directly to their doorsteps.

3. Show Up Before You Feel “Ready”

Emily emphasized that opportunities like grants or fellowships don’t come when you feel 100% prepared — they come when you keep showing up. Her work with the Cartier Women’s Initiative, where she now serves as co-Well-Being champion, is a perfect example.

Lesson: Whether you’re a patient advocating for your needs or an innovator applying for funding, don’t wait until you feel ready — start now.

4. Staying Relevant Means Listening Closely

Healthcare evolves quickly, but staying relevant doesn’t always mean chasing trends. At Mighty Well, we stay ahead by:

  • Tracking data daily to guide decisions
  • Prioritizing Amazon for next-day delivery patients need
  • Creating free resources like the Ultimate Guide to PICCs

Takeaway: Listening to patients and clinicians will always point the way forward.

5. Healing Goes Beyond Medical Devices

Emily also shared about her personal healing journey, which included healing with and learning from indigenous healers in the Amazon rainforest. While devices like the PICCPerfect® and H2O Shield™ kept her safe, full healing required addressing both her mind, body, and spirit.

For patients: Your healing is more than managing a diagnosis. It’s about treating the whole person — body, mind, and spirit.

Our Commitment to Our Community

The Women in MedTech Podcast was a chance to reflect on how far Mighty Well has come and where we’re going next. Our mission remains the same: to turn patients into friends and to make the patient journey one of dignity, safety, and hope.
